What To Expect With Your Microblading Experience
Microblading is the implantation of pigment into the second layer of skin, creating hair like strokes into the eyebrow.
CONSULTATION:
Emily will go through a thorough consultation prior to starting the microblading procedure. The consultation is the most important part of the procedure and makes up about 90% of it. During the consultation, she ask’s clients to show her any photos they like, don’t like and/or how they normally draw on their eyebrows to get an idea of the client’s unique style. Microblading is not completed without a complete consultation and the client feels confident and comfortable with what they want.
SHAPING/MAPPING
Defining the shape and mapping the brows is the second most important step in the microblading process. Emily will measure all the points of the client’s face with a caliper, mapping string and then to ensure symmetry and precision will apply a brow ruler to solidify the exact measurements and shap. Once she finds what she needs to make a perfect pair of eyebrows, she begins designing based on the client’s natural eyebrow hair accompanied by the clients desired look. This is all done with a pencil first to ensure that the shape can be adjusted, if needed, before the procedure starts.
COLOR SELECTION
Once the client approves the shape drawn, a color or a combination of colors is selected among Emily and client. She will swatch colors onto the forehead based on their natural eyebrow color, skin tone and the client’s unique style.
NUMBING
MLE made wants to ensure your utmost comfort during the procedure so Emily applies a topical numbing cream for 20 minutes prior to the clients procedure. She places it on top of the outline and covers it with saran wrap to seal in the numbing as much as possible. There are situations where the numbing takes better to certain client’s skin better than other, so to continue to ensure your comfort is our number one concern, Emily uses a secondary numbing regimen after the first pass. The first numbing cream is meant for unbroken skin and the second is for broken skin.
MICROBLADING
Only after the client has approved the shape, color and the numbing is completed, then Emily will proceed with the microblading procedure. Every sterile needle is opened in front of the client and then she will start the microblading procedure. The first initial “pass” along the brow to reinforce the shape, focusing on the outer strokes and some inner strokes, then the second pass filling in the brow with ample amount of strokes to appropriately fill in the brow, using adequate placement of each stroke. A generous “pigment bath” follows each pass to ensure the pigment is evenly dispersed into each stroke, giving the illusion of real fine hair. Numbing is applied throughout the procedure to ensure the utmost comfort.
THE BIG REVEAL
Once the microblading procedure is complete, the BIG REVEAL is next! Emily shows the client their new beautiful set of eyebrows and ask the client if they would like to make any adjustments before they leave. Emily prides herself on customer satisfaction so she always make sure you walk out the door happy and confident with their new brows!
THE TOUCH UP & ANNUAL COLOR BOOST
All microblading and permanent makeup is a multisession process, meaning, touch ups are necessary. Think of this as the second coat of nail polish, the first one is alright, but the second one seals the deal. This session is done 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure. At this session, Emily and the client will go over any concerns they may have had during the healing, fill in any areas that may have faded or simply go thicker or even darker than the first time! Going conservative on the first session helps ensure the client is satisfied so adding on the touch up is a piece of cake and included in the price of the initial microblading session! Again, steps 1-4 are followed on the touch up and make sure the client leaves satisfied. After your first touch up an annual color boost comes recommended, but not necessary.
